Welcome to jamesellis.com

We work very closely with some lovely artists and illustrators.

Duncan works just down the road from us in Bristol, and has illustrated some fantastic monsters for our Children's stationery. He's also an experienced animator and has worked on numerous projects for TV and web. He likes to get out and about with his dog Ivor, and attempts to be an exemplary Dad to his baby daughter. You can see Duncan's work here.

Ailie has illustrated several ranges of colourful children's cards and stationery for us. She has been illustrating books for children for more than 15 years and uses acrylic and a mixture of papers and pencil to create her art. Ailie's work is influenced by pattern, 1950’s and 60’s children’s books, vintage finds and her own children. You can see Ailie's work here

Alice works for us here at James Ellis and has illustrated our Urban Fox Press range along with some Christmas and Retro Press designs. Her illustrations are created digitally but use scans of painted and textured paper. She likes colour, paper, books and tea. You can see Alice's work here.

Julie has been illustrating for us for many years, and has created a large range of designs for both children and adults. She graduated from art college in Dundee and uses acrylic paints, coloured pencils and collage in her illustrations, which are lovingly created in her slightly chilly Edinburgh studio. Julie also likes screen printing, sewing and building on her collection of owl ornaments.  You can see Julie's work here.

Max has working with us since we moved to Bristol 12 years ago and has created lots of wonderful designs for us in her unique collage style. Her illustrations are created in photoshop using vintage materials collected from all over the world, inspired by old postcards, letterpress printing, and trips to France and Italy.  You can see Max's work here.

Claire began working for us recently and has already illustrated a wonderful new range of shakies cards for us, as well as some cute Christmas designs. She lives here in Bristol and since graduating from the illustration course at UWE she has been working on her first picture book. You can see Claire's work here.

She has created many wonderful illustrations for us over the years and her work can be found in most of our ranges. She works from her studio in her home in Manchester, creating colourful illustrations using a mix of painting, drawing and collage. Nicola loves children's picture books, patterns and textiles. When she's not painting you'll find her with a camera in hand, on the hunt for vintage finds or at a gig or festival. You can see Nicola's work here.

Originally from Russia, Ekaterina has lived and worked in London since her graduation from Camberwell College of Arts. She draws her inspiration from everyday life, mid-century illustration and the books she had when she was a child. You can see Ekaterina's work here.

Katherine graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University in 2004 and since then has built up a wealth of creative experience in the stationery industry. She first illustrated for us many years ago, and has recently designed a wonderful range of Christmas cards for us based on capital cities. You can see Katherine's work here.

Klara was born in the North West of England in a very pretty, hilly and wet rural area. A childhood full of rainy days allowed for lots of time indoors drawing and painting. She studied Illustration at Kingston University, and now works in her dream job as a freelance illustrator. You can see Klara's work here.

We're always looking for exciting new artists to work with. If you feel that your work would fit into our range please email some examples or a link to your portfolio to info@jamesellis.com
